Keep Costs Down
We offer different ways to help with the purchase of instruments and accessories. If you would like advice on what the best option is for you then please just give us a call or pop in.
- Take it away
-
Take it away is a new Arts Council England initiative created to help people get involved in learning and playing music.
Although it has been created primarily to assist those under 18 and those who might otherwise be unable to afford the right instrument, the scheme is open to all. Loan applicants must be over 18 years old and a permanent resident of the UK. So younger students and children will have to get their parents to apply for them.
Take it away lets you enjoy a new instrument with interest free credit. The scheme allows you to apply for an interest free loan from £100 up to £2,000 for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument, and pay it back in 9 monthly instalments (plus a minimum 10% deposit). Equipment, accessories and tuition can also be included.
Process:
- Choose an instrument and any required accessories in the shop
- Fill out application and pay 10% deposit
- Walk out with purchases
- Pay The Take It Away Scheme each month for 9 months
- Assisted Purchase Scheme
-
If your child attends a Local Education Authority School full time then they are eligible to purchase an instrument VAT free (i.e. at a discount of 17.5%).
We work closely with the schools around us and can easily organise this purchase method for you. The instrument has to be suited to the pupils standard and needs, which we can advise on.
- Rental
-
We also offer a rental scheme perfectly suited for those pupils who may be unsure if they they want to play an instrument or which one to choose. You pay a rental fee for 3 months, and after this rental period you have the choice of whether you would like to pay the rest or return the instrument.
